Job summary

Ancora Education in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a temporary CDL Driver Trainer to support and perform all driver training functions for the CDL program at the assigned location. This role supports Amazon Career Choice initiatives and may serve markets nationwide for up to 90 days.

You will train students in trucking fundamentals, administer tests, conduct pre-trip inspections, and uphold safety and compliance standards, while communicating effectively with students and staff.

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and Class level must meet requirements.
• 3 years of verifiable on-the-road experience within the last 5 years.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• MVR and background check with drug screening.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and DOT drug screen.
• Maintain a valid Medical Examiner Certificate and pass DOT tests as required.
• Knowledge of pre-trip inspection, air-brake tests, and CDL driving fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and Maintains a Positive Learning Environment.
• Convenes all assigned classes per their start and end times.
• Trains students in all areas of trucking/driving.
• Administers written tests on classroom material and evaluates grades.
• Conducts pre-trip inspections of commercial motor vehicles.
• Instructs air-brake tests and driving backing techniques.
• Demonstrates driving skills and safety procedures to students.
• Maintains records of student progress and attendance.
