Job summary

Mainerafting seeks a Market Area Trainer to educate employees on the safe operation of company vehicles through classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training. This role prepares drivers for specific lines of business, evaluates performance, and supports retraining to promote a strong safety culture.

You will collaborate with Operations and Safety leadership, lead Smith System 5 Keys training, and use Power BI reporting to inform instruction.

Qualifications

Valid CDL-B license is required.
Smith System 5 Keys Driver Trainer Certification (Truck & Large Vehicle).
CDL-A eligibility is encouraged for development.
Ability to coach and evaluate drivers across experience levels.
Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Delivers Smith System 5 Keys training in classroom and behind-the-wheel; evaluates driver readiness and provides retraining.
Trains, road-tests, and coaches Designated Driver Trainers (DDTs) and maintains Casella materials.
Supports onboarding by delivering classroom and on-road training and evaluating during the 4–6 week program.
Provides refresher training, cross-training, and skill certification across lines of business.
Maintains training records and communicates incident trends to Safety Managers; uses Power BI to inform instruction.
