Casella Waste Systems is seeking a Market Area Trainer to educate employees on safe and efficient operation of company vehicles, using classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction. You will evaluate performance, support retraining, and ensure Smith System 5 Keys compliance while collaborating with Operations and Safety leadership.

The role emphasizes coaching, mentorship, and data-driven instruction, with opportunities to lead training sessions, maintain records, and contribute to a strong safety

Qualifications

• Smith System 5 Keys Driver Trainer Certification required; refresher every two years.
• Valid CDL-B license required; CDL-A eligibility supported for development.

Responsibilities

• Delivers Smith System 5 Keys training through classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction; evaluates driver readiness and retrains as needed.
• Trains and coaches Designated Driver Trainers (DDTs) and aligns with Casella materials.
• Supports onboarding with classroom and on-road training; evaluates during 4–6 week program.
• Provides refresher training and route observations to reinforce safe driving.
• Maintains training records and reports to management.
