Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Training Specialist to coach and train delivery drivers, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies. You will use training guides and perform field observations, delivering feedback to improve performance and service quality.

The role requires 21+ years old, CDL-A, and prior route-driving experience in foodservice distribution, with strong communication and training skills to support a compliant, efficient driver team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
• 1 - 3 Years of experience
• At least 2 years of route Driving experience in foodservice distribution with DOT knowledge
• CDL A and DOT Health Card required
• Must be 21 years of age
• Meet all State licensing/certification requirements

Responsibilities

• Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills and uses systems and tools effectively.
• Maintains working knowledge of DOT regulations (hours of service, pre-trip/post-trip) and company safety policies.
• Delivers hands-on training to drivers to maximize knowledge transfer while meeting customer needs, service times, and costs.
• Provides ongoing feedback to driver trainees and supervisory staff including corrective actions.
• Ensures quality customer service and supports safe delivery operations.
• Works with new hires and experienced drivers in classroom or field training settings.
• May adapt Driver Training Manual with local programs specific to location, products and reports.
