Job summary

Rumpke of Ohio, Inc. is seeking a Driver Trainee to begin on-the-job training while preparing for a CDL license. You will work alongside experienced drivers, handle routine waste or recycling collection, and learn route procedures in a safety-focused environment.

This position emphasizes learning and development, with a path to become a full CDL driver. Expect physical activity, outdoor work in varying weather, and adherence to all regulations while serving customers in Ohio.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card within 10 days of employment.
• Must obtain class B CDL permit within 60 days and class B CDL within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Attend classroom and field training to obtain required CDL license.
• Assist as a helper during training to complete daily routes as needed.
• Enter/exit a truck 300-500 times per day to service route.
• Provide waste or recycling removal services to customers on assigned routes.
• Maintain route sheets/logs and perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections.
