Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Ohio is seeking a Driver Trainee to train alongside drivers and work toward a Class B CDL. You will gain hands-on experience servicing routes, performing pre-trip inspections, and interacting with customers while learning safety policies and company procedures.

You will begin in a trainee role and progress toward becoming a CDL driver, with opportunities in waste collection and recycling operations.

Qualifications

• Must obtain DOT medical card within 10 days of employment.
• Must obtain class B CDL permit within 60 days of employment.
• Must obtain a class B CDL within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Attend classroom and field training to obtain CDL.
• Assist as a helper during training to complete daily routes.
• Enter/exit a truck 300-500 times per day to service assigned route.
• Operate a truck in a safe manner in compliance with all regulations and company policies.
• Provide waste or recycling removal services to customers on assigned routes.
• Clean up waste spills and overflows.
• Maintain and update route sheets/logs.
• Conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections and complete logs.
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
