Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Columbus, OH is hiring a Driver Trainee to train side-by-side with CDL drivers and gain hands-on experience in waste collection and hauling. You will begin in a trainee role while training to become a CDL driver and service assigned routes with safety and professionalism.

Required to obtain a DOT medical card within 10 days, a class B CDL permit within 60 days, and a class B CDL within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and understand a map.
• Must be able to enter/exit the truck 300-500 times per day.
• Must communicate effectively and professionally with customers.

Responsibilities

• Attend classroom and field training to obtain the CDL.
• Assist as a helper during training to complete daily routes.
• Enter/exit a truck 300-500 times per day to service routes.
• Operate a truck safely in compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Provide waste or recycling removal services on assigned routes.
• Complete logs and conduct pre/post trip inspections.
