Central Plains Steel is hiring an experienced Truck Driver to operate commercial vehicles over 26,001 lbs, delivering and picking up merchandise and equipment to assigned destinations in a timely fashion. The schedule is Monday–Friday with a 6:30 AM start.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of relevant driving experience or equivalent education/experience.
• 2 years of commercial driving experience with cargo preferred.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Road test completion required.
• Able to meet insurability and FMCSA drug/alcohol requirements.
• Able to meet all driver qualification requirements per federal regulations.
• Must have clean MVR per regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicles over 26,001 lbs to deliver or pick up merchandise and equipment.
• Drive on interstate or foreign commerce in a safe, timely manner.
• Follow safety procedures including cargo securement.
• Maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions.
• Load and unload vehicles as required.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and document defects.
• Log daily activities using ELD per FMCSA requirements.
• Report traffic incidents, accidents, or vehicle damage.
