Job summary

Steel Technologies is seeking a Truck Driver to operate heavy-capacity commercial trucks between Steel Technologies locations, suppliers, and customers. You will perform pre-trip inspections, secure cargo, and follow a fixed delivery schedule to ensure timely, quality service.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL License with two years of driving experience, steel hauling preferred.
• Ability to operate a clutch pedal and tractor-trailer for long shifts.
• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSR requirements and state laws.

Responsibilities

• Operates a truck with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations.
• Performs required pre-trip inspections and monthly checklists.
• Reports vehicle defects or accidents, secures cargo for transport.
• Maneuvers truck to loading/unloading positions and follows loading crew signals.
• Follows a pre-determined schedule of pickup and delivery.
