Job summary

Cypress Cove, located in Fort Myers, FL, is seeking a dedicated driver to transport residents safely to appointments and daily outings. You will assist residents in and out of vehicles, help with wheelchairs, and ensure proper luggage handling while prioritizing comfort and safety.

The role requires a valid CDL with passenger endorsement and a clean driving record, plus the ability to read maps and communicate effectively with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow maps (electronic and paper-based).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with residents and staff.
• Genuine interest in and compassion for older adults.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, timely transport of residents to appointments and outings.
• Assist residents in getting in and out of vehicles and with mobility needs.
• Perform periodic checks of bus operation (fuel, oil, lights, fluids).
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and logs related to service.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Providing safe and timely transport of Residents to appointments and other daily outings.
• Safely assisting residents in to and out of vehicles, including maneuvering wheelchairs, holding umbrellas in inclement weather and baggage handling.
• Conducting periodic checks of bus operation including fuel, oil, wipers, fluids, lights, etc.
• Maintaining cleanliness of vehicles and logs/records pertaining to vehicle service.

• A valid driver’s license - CDL endorsement (with (P) passenger endorsement) required – and a clean driving record.
• Ability to read and follow maps (electronic and paper-based).
