Job summary

CTI Ready Mix, Inc. is seeking self-motivated mixer truck drivers to deliver concrete safely and professionally in the Marshalltown area. You will operate transit mixer trucks, maintain safety and service standards, and communicate effectively with dispatch and customers.

Responsibilities include loading and unloading concrete, paperwork, route following, and routine vehicle inspections, with some Saturdays possible. A CDL with air brakes and good driving record are required.

Qualifications

  • Mixer truck experience is a plus.
  • Hold a valid Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement.
  • Manual endorsement preferred; willing to obtain if not held.
  • Maintain a current state MVR on file.
  • Must pass FMCSA/DOT background checks and DOT physical.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including some Saturdays.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Drive mixer truck to job sites and batch plants delivering concrete.
  • Follow dispatch routes and record driver status with GPS.
  • Communicate site issues and traffic conditions to dispatch.
  • Inspect concrete and adjust slump as requested by customers.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with on-site service.
  • Assemble/disassemble concrete chute for unloading.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain safety standards.
  • Complete paperwork and collect payments when required.
  • Maintain truck cleanliness and perform minor maintenance as needed.
  • Follow CTI safety policies and OSHA/state regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

CTI Ready Mix, Inc. is looking for self-motivated and experienced mixer truck drivers that will provide outstanding customer service by delivering a quality product safely and efficiently. They will drive a transit mixer truck to deliver concrete mix and other construction-related products to job sites in the Marshalltown and surrounding areas. The Mixer Truck Driver will always represent the company in a friendly and professional manner.




  • Drive mixer truck to and from job sites and batch plants delivering concrete to customers, in accordance to the proper daily driver process.

  • Follow the ticketed route pre-planned by dispatch, selecting the most direct and safest course. Record accurate driver status using GPS software.

  • Communicate jobsite issues, traffic conditions, and special circumstances to dispatch to aid in decision making and the routing of future loads.

  • Inspect concrete prior to delivery and at the point of delivery. Adjust slump as requested by customers.

  • Ensure the customer is satisfied with the product at the point of delivery and provide the highest level of customer service at job sites.

  • Assemble concrete chute to the back of the truck for unloading at sites. Wash down and replace chute on truck after delivery.

  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections on truck and equipment to ensure safety standards.

  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, collect payment from customers when required, and maintain records of daily activities.

  • Maintain interior and exterior truck cleanliness by following proper wash and cleanliness procedures; after loadout, after unloading, end of day cab cleaning, and regular seasonal maintenance.

  • Assist mechanics in performing minor and capable maintenance on CMVs.

  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate safety equipment and using excellent safety practices, while visiting job sites per CTI policies, OSHA, and Federal and State laws and regulations.

  • Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Manual endorsement is highly preferred. If not, must be willing to obtain.

  • Valid state Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

  • Must pass Federal DOT record check (FMCSA Clearinghouse).

  • Must pass post-conditional offer of employment DOT physical.

  • Able to work flexible hours M-F with some Saturdays.

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent time management skills. Work well under time constraints and respond positively to change.

  • Professional, friendly, possesses a positive attitude, self-motivated, and proactive.
