Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a reliable driver to operate residential/recycling collection trucks across assigned routes. You will load waste and recyclables, perform compaction, and ensure route efficiency while adhering to safety standards.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and a Commercial Driver's License, with at least one year of driving experience or CDL training. Expect a fast-paced environment with overtime on occasion and routine safety inspections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED desired.
• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience OR CDL school certificate.
• Must meet safety sensitive criteria per company standards.
• Must be able to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential/recycling collection trucks and ancillary equipment on assigned routes.
• Load waste and recyclables into the vehicle and operate the compacting system.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete documentation.
• Identify hazardous waste and tag/remove prohibited items.
• Maintain route quality and comply with safety policies and regulations.
• Communicate vehicle issues to supervisor and mechanics promptly.
