Job summary

Grayson Carter and Son Contracting, Inc. is seeking a CDL Driver IIII to operate heavy trucks in Athens, AL. This full-time role requires adherence to safety rules, cargo handling, and DOT regulations.

You will work with Technicians, Foremen, Superintendents, and other crew while maintaining professional conduct and completing tasks on schedule.

Candidates must have a CDL Class A, be able to pass a drug screen, and be willing to work weekends and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A required and able to drive all listed trucks.
• Valid Hazmat and Tanker endorsements preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and safety regulations.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate dump trucks and other commercial vehicles in compliance with laws and safety standards.
• Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and basic maintenance as needed.
• Maintain professional, cooperative relationships with team members.
• Attend work consistently and work overtime when required.

Position Title: CDL Driver IIII

Department: Trucking - DT

Essential Job Functions:

• Operate commercial vehicles, such as dump trucks, in accordance with traffic laws and safety regulations
• Ensure proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit
• Adhere to all federal, state, and local driving regulations, including hours of service, weight limits, and vehicle inspections
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and brakes, to ensure safe operation
• Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
• Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times
• Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

• CDL Class A Required
• Must be able to drive all trucks
• Hazmat Endorsement and tanker endorsement
• Knowledge of DOT Rules and Regulations
• Ability to communicate and convey information effectively
• Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
• Knowledge of OSHA Standards
• Ability to obtain Arsenal Badge and FBI Badge preferred, but not required
• Dependable transportation
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
• Work weekends and overtime as needed
• Committed to attending work each day
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
