Job summary

Grayson Carter and Son Contracting, Inc. is seeking a CDL Driver II to operate and maintain heavy vehicles in Athens, AL. You will load, transport, and secure cargo while complying with DOT hours, safety regulations, and site procedures.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B required.
• 1+ year experience as CDL Driver and/or can drive 2+ trucks.
• Hazmat Endorsement.
• Tanker Endorsement.
• Knowledge of DOT Rules and Regulations.
• Ability to communicate information effectively.
• Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and lift 75 pounds.
• Knowledge of OSHA Standards.
• Arsenal/FBI badges preferred but not required.
• Dependable transportation and PPE on job sites.
• Willing to work weekends and overtime.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicles, such as dump trucks, in accordance with traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Ensure proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
• Adhere to all federal, state, and local driving regulations, including hours of service, weight limits, and vehicle inspections.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and brakes, to ensure safe operation.
• Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son Contracting, Inc. in a professional and honest manner.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
