Job summary

Goodwill Hawaii is seeking a Full Time CDL Driver to operate a GVW truck (26,001 lbs or more) transporting donated goods and materials across Oahu. You will load, secure cargo, maintain logs, and ensure safety compliance while representing the organization professionally.

You will greet donors, assist with donations, track donations, and collaborate with store management to support the Goodwill mission and community impact.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license (type 4).
• DOT medical clearance: traffic abstract, DOT physical, and FCE; age 21+.
• Maintain HDL and DOT medical card on person at all times.

Responsibilities

• Drive a GVW truck weighing 26,001 pounds or more.
• Greet donors in a friendly, courteous and timely manner.
• Assist donors with unloading donations, issue receipts, thank donors.
• Direct donor vehicular traffic when necessary.
• Assist in donation tracking and record keeping.
• Identify acceptable and unacceptable donation items.
• Explain Goodwill's Mission, Services and Programs to the community.
• Communicate regularly with Retail Store Manager and/or Donation Attendant Supervisor.
• Adhere to uniform and appearance standards; maintain professional image.
• Follow safety standards and operating procedures when using equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY

The CDL Driver (Full Time) is responsible for operating a GVW truck (26,001 lbs or more) to transport donated goods, trash, and materials to and from designated locations, including waste disposal sites. The CDL Driver (Full Time) ensures safe vehicle operation, loads and secures cargo properly, and maintains accurate driving and vehicle maintenance logs in compliance with state and federal regulations. Additionally, the CDL Driver (Full Time) works closely with crew members, follows safety procedures, and represents the organization professionally while navigating routes across Oahu.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following.

• Driving a GVW truck weighing 26,001 pounds or more
• Greets donors in a friendly, courteous and timely manner.
• Assists donors with the unloading of donations, provides a receipt and thanks all donors for supporting Goodwill.
• Directs donor vehicular traffic when necessary
• Assists in donation tracking and record keeping
• Identifies acceptable and unacceptable donation items
• Serves as company ambassador and explains the Goodwill Mission in the community by providing general information about Goodwill’s Mission, Services and Programs
• Responsible for regular communication with the Retail Store Manager and/or Donation Attendant Supervisor.
• Adheres to company uniform and appearance standards and maintains a professional image at all times.
• Complies with safety standards and follows operating procedures when utilizing equipment, tools & machinery.
• Other duties as assigned.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Must have a valid driver's license (type 4).
• Must have a traffic abstract that meets company guidelines, pass a DOT physical, functional capacity exam, and be at least 21 years of age.
• Must retain HDL and DOT medical card on their person at all time when working.
