Job summary

Bennett Paving is seeking a reliable CDL Driver to transport materials, equipment, and supplies to and from job sites. The role requires a valid Class A license, clean driving record, and DOT medical card, with 2+ years of commercial driving experience preferred.

Ideal candidates will have experience hauling construction materials, knowledge of load securement, and strong communication and time-management skills. Long hours, weekends, and evenings may be required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A with no restrictions.
• Clean driving record and current DOT medical card.
• 2+ years of commercial driving experience preferred.
• Experience hauling construction materials or equipment is a plus.
• Familiarity with load securement, tie-down procedures, and safe operating practices.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and assist with loading/unloading when required.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicles (e.g., dump truck, flatbed, lowboy, or trailer) to transport materials and equipment
• Load and unload trucks using proper methods to prevent shifting, damage, or injury
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and DOT compliance
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage reports, and trip documentation
• Follow delivery schedules, GPS directions, and instructions from dispatch or supervisors
• Secure loads using chains, binders, tarps, or straps as needed
• Comply with all DOT, state, and federal transportation regulations
• Assist crews with labor or site tasks when deliveries are complete (as needed)
• Report any mechanical issues, delays, or safety concerns promptly
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned vehicle
