Job summary

PODS in Jacksonville, FL, seeks a CDL driver responsible for delivery and pickup of containers to customer locations. You will operate a commercial truck with a lift, perform safety inspections, and handle rental paperwork with customers.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 months of experience as a CDL driver.
• Current CDL A or B license from the state of assignment; must be 21+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a commercial truck with a patented lift mechanism to load and unload containers at customer sites, following safety rules.
• Perform and log daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and lift.
• Accept add-on deliveries as needed to meet business needs.
• Use company handheld computer for delivery verification and navigation.
• Operate a forklift and/or an overhead crane.
• Clean and inspect containers to ensure presentability for delivery to customers.
• Coordinate rental paperwork and payment with customers.
• Communicate with Driver Lead or Market Manager on questions or issues; prepare driver notes as needed.
• Perform repairs of containers and lifts in the field and at storage centers.
• Provide backup for storage center functions when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of truck cab; keep area free of debris.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Pay Rate: $23.25 per hour

Individual pay decisions are ultimately based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, geography, and balancing internal equity. Job Summary

Responsible for delivery and pickup of containers to and/or from customer locations; provide an effective and incident free delivery or pickup of a container while maintaining excellent rapport with the customer.

• Drive and operate a commercial truck with a patented lift mechanism to load and unload containers at customer sites in a safe manner by following all safety rules
• Perform and log daily pre and post trip inspections of commercial vehicle and lift
• Accept add-on deliveries as required to meet business needs
• Use company handheld computer for delivery verification and navigation

To qualify, you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent as well as a minimum of 3 months of experience employed as a CDL driver. In addition, you must maintain a current/valid CDL A or B from the state in which position is assigned and be at least 21 years of age (insurance requirement).
