Job summary

Granger Waste Services is seeking a responsible CDL Class B driver for local routes, delivering daily waste and recycling services with safe operations and top customer service.

You will operate an automated side loader, perform daily inspections, and ensure routes are completed on schedule while adhering to DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement.
• Strong safety record and commitment to DOT regulations.
• Capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, and walking throughout shift.
• Reliable team player with good communication and dependability.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate an automated side loader (ASL) garbage truck on residential routes.
• Use hydraulic controls to lift and empty carts.
• Complete waste and recycling collection per route schedules.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Monitor vehicle and report maintenance needs.

WhatYou’llDo

• Safely operate an automated side loader (ASL) garbage truck on residential collection routes
• Use automated hydraulic controls to lift and empty carts into the vehicle
• Complete waste and recycling collection according to established route schedules
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Monitor vehicle operation and report maintenance concerns
• Navigate routes safely while complying with all DOT regulations and company policies
• Utilize onboard technology and route management systems
• Exit the vehicle when necessary to address contamination, blocked carts, missed stops or other service issues
• Deliver exceptional customer service and represent Granger professionally in the community
• Maintain accurate route documentation and complete required reports

WhatWe’reLooking For

• Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement required
• Strong driving record with a demonstrated commitment to safety
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, pushing, pulling, walking and climbing throughout the workday
• Ability to safely handle waste and recycling materials in various weather conditions
• Strong reliability, teamwork and decision-making skills
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and pre-employment and random drug screenings (including marijuana)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• One year of commercial driving experience preferred

Work Schedule

Start time: 5 a.m. - 6:30 a.m. Monday – Friday (occasional Saturdays)
