Job summary

Tuskegee University is seeking a CDL Driver to transport students, faculty, and staff on the Golden Tiger Transit route. You will perform pre-route and post-route inspections and ensure on-time performance while maintaining a clean, safe vehicle and compliance with traffic laws.

The role requires a valid Alabama CDL with endorsements, preferred 5 years of driving experience, and may involve night/weekend shifts. Opportunities are available on a continuous open basis, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• A valid State of Alabama CDL License with Class A, B, C and Endorsement P.
• 5 years professional driving on the road (preferred).
• Air Brake certification (preferred).
• Less than 3 points on your license (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students, faculty, and staff to and from predetermined destinations.
• Perform vehicle pre-route inspection prior to departure and post-route inspection after completion of route.
• Safely transport passengers and maintain route discipline.
• Complete assigned bus routes on schedule while stopping at all stops.
• Report all vehicle-related issues for urgent attention and assist as needed.

Job Summary

This is a CONTINUOUS OPEN ANNOUNCEMENT

• The CDL Driver reports directly to Vice-President of Student Affairs / Chief Operating Officer. This position is responsible for safely and responsibly transporting students, faculty, and staff to and from predetermined destinations on The University’s Golden Tiger Transit System route.
• Perform vehicle pre-route inspection prior to departure and post-route inspection after completion of route
• Safely transport passengers
• Complete assigned designated Tuskegee Golden Tiger Transit bus route on schedule while stopping at all stops
• Assist as needed with embarking and disembarking
• Report all mechanical issues to the service manager immediately
• Obey all traffic laws
• Maintain a clean and sanitary bus at all times
• Ensuring that the truck has sufficient fuel at all times
• Informing clients and TU Management of potential delays
• Reporting all vehicle-related issues for urgent attention
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)

• A valid State of Alabama CDL License with Class A, B, C and Endorsement P License pursuant to §32.6.-49.10 Code of Alabama, 1975
• 5 years professional driving on the road (preferred)
• Air Brake certification (preferred)
• Less than 3 points on your license (preferred)
