Job summary

thyssenkrupp is seeking a professional delivery driver to ensure timely, accurate product delivery and paperwork handling for our customers. You will verify loads, operate forklifts and cranes, and maintain vehicle safety and paperwork throughout shifts.

The role requires a CDL, the ability to lift up to 70 pounds, and a commitment to safety. You will represent ThyssenKrupp Materials, NA with courteous, precise service and contribute to lean and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL class A and/or B license required.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds on a continuous basis.
• Safety-minded with careful driving and loading practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate radio frequency gun to verify load.
• Verify correct items are loaded for delivery.
• Perform load inspections before, during, and after delivery.
• Assist in loading/unloading trucks and ensure loads are secured.
• Deliver product and paperwork to customers promptly and courteously.
• Maintain trucks and perform required inspections and maintenance.
• Complete daily logs, delivery receipts, and vehicle inspections.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts as needed.
• Provide feedback on delivery or equipment problems to supervision.
• Train others when required.
• Adhere to lean and quality initiatives.

Job Summary

Provide timely delivery of product to our customers. Represent ThyssenKrupp Materials, NA in a positive manner by providing customers with quick, precise, helpful, courteous and professional delivery service. Ensure truck is in proper working order. Perform various duties as required.

Key Accountabilities

• Radio Frequency Gun usage
• Verify that correct items are loaded on the truck for delivery.
• Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that the load is properly fastened down and is secure.
• Assist in loading and unloading of trucks. Ensure truck is properly secured and not overweight.
• Ensure that material is properly protected from the outdoor elements.
• Deliver product and proper paperwork to our customers in a courteous and timely manner.
• Ensure that any debris caused by the loading/unloading of truck is cleaned up.
• Maintain trucks overall service and perform required inspections.
• Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift. May include, but not limited to, daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, etc.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Collect any COD money owed and ensure that money is given to the proper personnel upon return to the plant.
• Provide feedback to supervision regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems on returned proof of delivery sheets (load sheet).
• Assist in activities related to lean and/or quality.
• Train others when required.
• This position requires a commercial driver’s license (CDL).

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Applicable motor vehicle licensing (i.e. CDL class A and/or B or class 1 or class 3 in Canada)
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds on a continuous basis

Preferred Requirements:

• 3-5 years driving experience
