Job summary

Down to Earth is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to support our landscaping operations by safely transporting equipment and materials to and from job sites. You will aid field teams, maintain logs, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Ideal candidates demonstrate safety focus, reliability, and a willingness to perform physical labor, including operating grapple trucks and handling heavy loads across multiple job sites in Florida.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL (Class A or B) with a clean driving record.
• 1+ year of experience operating CDL vehicles.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle safety requirements.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and securing loads.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Experience operating a grapple truck.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate CDL-required vehicles, including dump trucks, flatbeds, and trailers.
• Transport landscaping equipment, plant materials, tools, and debris between job sites, yards, and vendors.
• Load and secure materials and equipment in compliance with safety and DOT regulations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety issues.
• Assist with loading/unloading materials, equipment, and debris as needed.
• Coordinate with crew leaders, operations staff, and dispatch to ensure timely deliveries.
• Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, and required compliance documentation.
• Keep vehicles clean and in good working condition.
• Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and traffic laws.
• Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients, vendors, and the public.
• Assist in clearing and disposing of trash and organic material.
• Maintaining a positive and collaborative attitude with internal and external clients.
• Performing other tasks as assigned.
• Safely operate a grapple truck to pick up and drop off tree debris.
• Maintain accurate records of pickups and deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with the dispatch team and other team members.
• Ensure that the truck and equipment are in good working order.
• Follow all DOT regulations and safety standards.

Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Experience operating a grapple truck.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience driving dump trucks, towing trailers, or hauling heavy equipment
• Experience in landscaping, construction, or field services industries
• Familiarity with loading equipment such as skid steers, mowers, or excavators
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills
• Basic mechanical knowledge or ability to identify vehicle issues
• Experience working with multiple job sites and tight schedules
• Willingness to assist crews with basic labor when not driving
• Strong knowledge of how to safely operate a tractor, bush hog and related landscape equipment
