Job summary

Down to Earth in Sanford, FL is seeking a motivated Crew Leader to oversee daily landscaping operations and guide a field crew of 2–5. You will plan tasks, supervise installation and maintenance, ensure safety, and deliver high‑quality results for multiple client sites in a fast‑paced outdoor setting.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in landscaping, leadership experience, and a strong knowledge of equipment and safety practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of landscaping or grounds maintenance experience.
• Prior experience leading or supervising a crew.
• Strong knowledge of landscaping techniques, equipment, and safety practices.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License and the ability to pass an MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise landscaping crew members during daily maintenance and/or installation activities.
• Plan and assign daily tasks to ensure productivity, quality, and safety.
• Perform landscaping work including mowing, trimming, planting, mulching, pruning, and clean‑up as needed.
• Ensure all work is completed according to company standards and client expectations.
• Conduct daily safety briefings and enforce company safety policies.
• Operate and oversee use of landscaping equipment and tools.
• Inspect equipment and vehicles and report maintenance needs.
• Communicate job progress, issues, and material needs with supervisors or account managers.
• Maintain accurate time tracking, job documentation, and site reports.
• Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients and property stakeholders.
• Understanding client needs while meeting or exceeding expectations.
• Managing multiple services that can include any of the following: spray operations, fertilization, maintenance production, tree care, and irrigation
• Planning, organizing and managing work for crew members at each client site location
• Conducting safety, equipment and timekeeping training.
