Job summary

State Steel Supply Company is seeking a CDL Driver to safely transport steel products using a flatbed truck or tractor and flatbed trailer. You will load, secure, and deliver cargo while adhering to regulations and maintaining cargo integrity.

Responsibilities include daily check-ins, safe operation, securing cargo, completing paperwork on time, regulatory compliance, incident reporting, and customer communication. Local travel with home every night is expected.

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License with appropriate endorsements.
• Valid Medical Card.
• Excellent driving record.
• 1 year of driving experience.
• 1 year of flatbed experience.

Responsibilities

• Check in and out with supervisor daily for assignments.
• Safely operate tractor/trailer.
• Secure cargo using straps and ratchets.
• Complete shipping and delivery paperwork accurately and on time.
• Comply with all regulations.
• Report accidents, incidents, or safety violations promptly.
• Maintain communication with supervisors, sales, and customers.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain daily records (HOS, DVIR, POD, fuel receipts).

Job description

As a CDL Driver at SSS Holdings, LLC, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods using a flatbed truck, or tractor and flatbed trailer. This role involves loading, securing, and unloading cargo, as well as adhering to transportation regulations and ensuring the integrity of the transported items. CDL drivers play a crucial role in the logistics and supply chain delivering a variety of steel products.

Primary Responsibilities:

• You are required to check in and out with your supervisor daily for all work assignments
• Safe operation of tractor/trailer
• Secure cargo using straps, and rachets
• Complete shipping and delivery paperwork accurately and on time
• Compliance with all regulations
• Report any accidents, incidents, or safety violations promptly
• Maintain communication with supervisors, sales, and customers as required
• Equipment maintenance, required pre and post trip inspections
• Maintain all daily records, HOS, DVIR, proof of deliveries and fuel receipts

Physical & Work Requirements:

• Continuous communication with different departments and our transportation network
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, moderately stressful, constantly changing day-to-day work environment
• Load securement using rachets and straps
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License with appropriate endorsements
• Valid Medical Card
• Excellent driving record
• Familiarity with relevant transportation regulations and safety standards
• Physical fitness and the ability to lift, carry and secure heavy and oversized loads
