Job summary

QXO in Savannah, GA is hiring a CDL Driver (Class A or B) to safely transport building materials to customer locations and job sites, loading/unloading, and ensuring DOT/FMCSA compliance. The role blends driving with hands-on material handling in a fast-paced environment.

You must have at least 12 months verifiable commercial driving experience, a valid Class A or B CDL, be 21+, and comfortable outdoors in all weather.

• Set up job parameters and inspect site for safe loading/unloading.
• Maintain regular communication with dispatch to ensure timely deliveries.
• Follow DOT and company safety procedures and wear PPE.

What You'll Do

The CDL Driver (Class A or B) is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transportation of building materials, construction products, and equipment to customer locations and job sites. This role combines commercial driving responsibilities with hands-on support in loading, unloading, securing, and verifying materials while ensuring compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations and company safety standards. Depending on the business unit, deliveries may include oversized, specialized, or engineered building components. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, customer-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment.

• Perform touch-freight tasks, which may require lifting, moving, or carrying products weighing over 75 lbs


• Pre-inspect the truck, load materials, and verify the accuracy of the load


• Notify branch management of any potential hazards on site


• Set up job parameters and inspect the site to ensure a safe environment for loading and unloading


• Maintain regular communication with the dispatcher to ensure timely delivery of products


• Follow all DOT and company safety procedures, and always wear appropriate PPE
