Job summary

QXO is seeking a CDL Driver (Class A or B) to safely transport building materials to customer locations and job sites. The role includes loading/unloading, securing cargo, and ensuring DOT/FMCSA compliance.

Ideal candidates are safety-focused, dependable, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include touch-freight handling, truck pre-inspection, hazard notification, site safety setup, and continuous liaison with dispatch for timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A or B CDL in good standing.
• At least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience.

Responsibilities

What you'll do:

CDL Driver (Class A or B) is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transportation of building materials, construction products, and equipment to customer locations and job sites. This role combines commercial driving responsibilities with hands‑on support in loading, unloading, securing, and verifying materials while ensuring compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations and company safety standards. Depending on the business unit, deliveries may include oversized, specialized, or engineered building components. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, customer-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment.

• Perform touch‑freight tasks, which may require lifting, moving, or carrying products weighing over 75 lbs
• Pre‑inspect the truck, load materials, and verify the accuracy of the load
• Notify branch management of any potential hazards on site
• Set up job parameters and inspect the site to ensure a safe environment for loading and unloading
• Maintain regular communication with the dispatcher to ensure timely delivery of products
• Follow all DOT and company safety procedures, and always wear appropriate PPE

What you'll bring:

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid Class A or B CDL license in good standing
• At least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience
• Experience operating heavy equipment and driving a manual transmission truck
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
