Job summary

Alter-Trading is seeking a CDL Driver to operate trucks for picking up steel sided flat beds or roll-off containers within the designated area. You will wait to be loaded, then transport loads to the customer or Alter, while moving scrap material around the yard.

The role requires a Class A or B CDL, 1–3 years of verifiable experience, and the ability to lift up to 100+ lbs with assistance. PPE and safety compliance are essential in daily duties.

Qualifications

• CDL license required (Class A or B depending on vehicle).
• 1–3 years verifiable experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and 100+ lbs with a partner.
• Ability to work in yard environment with PPE and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Wait to be loaded by Alter or customer and drive loads to customer or Alter.
• Drive semis around the yard while moving scrap material.
• May operate yard equipment to load or move scrap material.
• Wear all necessary PPE when working in the yard.
• Follow company safety standards at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Drive semis around the yard while moving scrap material


• May operate equipment within the yard, loading or moving scrap material


• Wear all necessary PPE when working in the yard


• Follow company safety standards at all times


• Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Must have Class A CDL or Class B CDL (for straight truck) license and minimum 1-3 years verifiable experience. Candidate must be able to lift a minimum of 30-50 lbs. and 100+lbs on 2-person lift. General knowledge of difference between ferrous and non-ferrous material preferred and equipment experience preferred.

Salary Information

$23 - $27Hourly Wage
