Job Summary

Based on experience and qualifications, drivers safely operate heavy-duty trucks, vacuum trucks, winch trucks, or other assigned vehicles to meet customer needs. Responsibilities include hauling tanker, flatbed, drop deck, heavy haul, end dump, and other oilfield equipment throughout the region. Drivers navigate rural, off-highway, high-traffic roadways, and oilfield environments.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Whether you hold a basic CDL A or multiple endorsements, Thomas values drivers with a commitment to safety and service. Our drivers represent us on the road and customer sites by performing the following duties:

• Operate vehicles in accordance with OSHA, DOT, local, state, and federal requirements, maintaining a clean and safe vehicle.
• Conduct short-haul trips between locations, ensuring safe transport of materials through congested and confined areas.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections using DVIR forms, noting issues for repair.
• Report unsafe situations or service calls immediately to management.
• Participate in training, briefings, and meetings as required.
• Collaborate with management to improve efficiency and resolve issues.
• Perform scheduled duties, assist other drivers, and notify management of incidents or property damage.
• Communicate customer requests or issues to dispatch or management.
• Follow driving assignments, complete documentation, and adhere to safety regulations.
• Maintain valid licensure and medical clearance, reporting any changes.
• Complete drug and alcohol screenings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications

• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• 25 years of age or older
• Valid CDL A license and Medical Certificate
• Endorsements as needed (e.g., Tanker endorsement)
• Acceptable driving record
• 2 years verifiable operating experience
• Ability to work rotational and on-call schedules (14 days on/7 days off), including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work outdoors in variable weather
• Successful completion of pre-hire tests and background checks

Preferred Qualifications

• Oilfield experience
• HazMat endorsement
