Job summary

QXO is seeking a CDL Driver (Class A or B) in Long Beach, CA to safely transport building materials to customer locations and job sites. You will assist with loading, securing loads, and ensuring DOT compliance.

The role requires 12 months of verifiable commercial driving, a clean CDL, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather. This position offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for training.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid Class A or B CDL license in good standing.
• At least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience.
• Experience operating heavy equipment and driving a manual transmission truck.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform touch-freight tasks that may involve lifting, moving, or carrying products weighing over 75 lbs.
• Pre-inspect the truck, load materials, and verify the accuracy of the load.
• Notify branch management of any hazards on site.
• Set up job parameters and inspect the site to ensure safe loading/unloading.
• Maintain regular communication with the dispatcher to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Follow DOT and company safety procedures and wear PPE at all times.

What you will do:

The CDL Driver (Class A or B) is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transportation of building materials, construction products, and equipment to customer locations and job sites. This role combines commercial driving responsibilities with hands-on support in loading, unloading, securing, and verifying materials while ensuring compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations and company safety standards. Depending on the business unit, deliveries may include oversized, specialized, or engineered building components. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, customer-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment.
