Job description

NHT Logistics, Inc. is a family-owned trucking and cold storage company located in Denver, PA. Join our team as we aim for excellence in everything we do, including transporting goods to the greater Mid-Atlantic region.

Purpose: The CDL Driver will partner with the NHT team and customers by picking up and delivering freight to various locations. This position will take responsibility for verifying and maintaining case counts, at all times, and paperwork of the daily loads. The Driver must be in complete support of and willing adherence to NHT’s mission, vision and core values. Applicant must hold these standards as his/her own.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions:

1. Safely transports goods and ensures quality customer service.
2. Provides accurate and neat paperwork.
3. Services the five boroughs in NYC.
4. Loads and unloads trailers.
5. Breaks down freight (as needed).
6. Maintains clean and neat equipment.
7. Logs miles, driving hours and other activities, especially as required to maintain compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
8. Manages fuel needs ensuring the vehicle is properly fueled.
9. Navigating or managing routes via GPS and other in-field technology provided by the company.
10. Performs inspections to ensure the vehicle and cargo are safe, in working condition and aligned with laws and regulations.
11. Follows traffic laws and driving in a safe, courteous manner.

Education & Experience:

1. Must have and maintain a valid CDL.
2. Valid Medical Card.
3. Hold a valid driver’s license for a minimum of three years (does not need to be a CDL license).
4. Previous NYC driving experience a plus.
5. Power jack certification (NHT will train and certify if necessary).
6. Ability to utilize technology as it relates to E-Log software.

Physical Requirements / Environmental Conditions: The driver will need to be physically able to work in cold environments, complete extended hours of sitting, standing, bending, climbing in and out of truck and trailer multiple times a day to include physical work that may include but not be limited to: stacking boxes onto pallets and lifting up to 50 lbs. to complete the required tasks.

Travel: 100% on the road
