Job summary

Kolbe-Striping seeks a crew member to operate truck-mounted striping equipment and perform labor tasks on road projects. Outdoor work includes exposure to weather, with safety as a priority. Must read blueprints and layouts and help ensure project accuracy.

Requirements include High School diploma or equivalent, Colorado Flagger Certification, and a valid Colorado Driver's license. 0–2 years of experience operating striping equipment is preferred.

Qualifications

• Colorado Flagger Certification required.
• Valid Colorado Driver's license required.
• 0–2 years operating truck-mounted striping equipment preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and layouts.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain equipment such as Bobcats, Dynatec Groovers, grinding tractors, Wirtgen milling machines, forklifts.
• Perform labor tasks and assist with striping project layouts and material placement.
• Verify project details with Project Manager (site location, materials, scope).
• Load/unload equipment and haul materials to job sites.
• Provide customer service and address issues with traveling public.
• Conduct safety checks and audits of equipment and processes.
• Flagging tasks when needed and ensure compliance with safety rules.

Job description

Purpose of position: Operates various types of construction related equipment and performs labor functionsEssential duties/responsibilities:Ensures that their actions meet all safety requirementsOperates and maintains equipment such as Bobcat's, Dynatec Groovers, Grinding tractors, Wirtgen milling machines, Forklifts, etc.Verifies details of striping projects with Project Manager, including site locations, type of materials and nature of project.Performs emergency roadside repairs as needed and capable to ensure proper completion of job.Loads and Unloads Equipment as necessaryPerforms flagging tasks when needed.Reads blueprints and performs layoutsLays striping materials on roadwayHauls and moves materials at the jobsite.Shovels and sweeps work areas as needed.Hauls materials to Job siteTrains other operators as neededUses mathematical skills to ensure proper placementDrives vehicles and equipment as necessary (if they meet the requirements to drive)Provides Customer Service to our Customers, including the traveling public; ensuring follow through on problems encountered, questions asked, or issues identified.Completes audits of quality control, safety checks for drivers (ensuring that the striping is accurate and does not pose a safety concern), as well as inventory and billing audits of reported quantities.Knowledge, skills and abilitiesBasic reading, writing and mathematical skillsCommunication skillsKnowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand and power tools, including hand shovel, pick, construction bar, rake, broom and other hand held power tools.Knowledge of safety rules for construction site sand the ability to abide by them.Ability to read blueprints and assist with layoutProficient in the maintenance and repair of truck mounted striping equipmentBasic knowledge of truck operations, striping materials and striping applicationsKnowledge of and exposure to hazardous materialsTraining/Education:High School diploma or equivalentValid Colorado Flagger CertificationValid Colorado Drivers licenseExperience:0-2 years experience operating various types of truck mounted striping equipmentWorking Environment:Outdoor environment that includes exposure to rain, sleet, snow, extreme cold, dust, mud, heat, direct sunlight, dark, and noiseMay be exposed to moving vehicles, exhaust and fumesPhysical Activities:Prolonged sitting, standing and bending, reaching, crawling, climbing, grasping, kneeling, squatting, and twisting.Often includes lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling items up to 75 pounds.Note: This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications associated with this jobKolbe Striping is a Seasonal/Work Dependent Employer.
