Job summary

Koopman Lumber is seeking an experienced CDL Truck Driver (Class A or Class B) to deliver building materials to residential and commercial jobsites in Berlin, CT. This hands-on role requires loading, unloading, and outdoor work in all weather.

You will operate Class A or B trucks, use forklifts or Moffett to load, and ensure loads are secure and accurate. Dispatch communications and delivery paperwork are part of daily duties; safety and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A or B license.
• Hoisting License (H-1C) preferred.
• Experience operating Moffett and forklifts strongly preferred.
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
• Physically fit and capable of sustained, heavy work.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A or Class B trucks to deliver lumber and building materials
• Load and unload your own truck using forklifts, Moffett, and manual labor as required
• Deliver to active jobsites and load returns from customer locations
• Secure loads properly and inspect materials for accuracy and condition
• Communicate with dispatch using mobile apps or tablets
• Complete required logs, inspections, and delivery paperwork
• Represent Koopman Lumber professionally with customers and jobsite personnel
• This role requires physical effort and problem-solving - it's not dock-to-dock driving.

Koopman Lumber is hiring an experienced CDL Truck Driver (Class A or Class B) to deliver building materials to residential and commercial jobsites. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role - not just driving from point A to point B. Drivers are expected to load, unload, handle returns, and work outdoors in all seasons.

Requirements

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift 80 lbs and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs independently
