Koopman Lumber Co Inc in Berlin, CT is seeking an experienced CDL Truck Driver (Class A or B) to deliver building materials to residential and commercial sites. This hands-on role involves loading, unloading, and outdoor work in all seasons.

You will operate trucks safely, secure loads, and communicate with dispatch using mobile devices while performing required logs and delivery paperwork.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B license is required.
• Hoisting license (H-1C preferred) is required or strongly preferred.
• Experience operating Moffett and forklifts is highly preferred.
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
• Physically fit for heavy work and long shifts.
• Strong focus on safety, accuracy, and customer service.
• Comfortable using smartphones/tablets for routing and communication.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A or Class B trucks to deliver lumber and building materials.
• Load and unload your own truck using forklifts, Moffett, and manual labor as required.
• Deliver to active jobsites and load returns from customer locations.
• Secure loads properly and inspect materials for accuracy and condition.
• Communicate with dispatch using mobile apps or tablets.
• Complete required logs, inspections, and delivery paperwork.
• Represent Koopman Lumber professionally with customers and jobsite personnel.
• This role requires physical effort and problem-solving.

Reports To: Store Manager / Dispatch

Koopman Lumber is hiring an experienced CDL Truck Driver (Class A or Class B) to deliver building materials to residential and commercial jobsites. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role - not just driving from point A to point B. Drivers are expected to load, unload, handle returns, and work outdoors in all seasons.

What You'll Do

• Safely operate Class A or Class B trucks to deliver lumber and building materials

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• Valid CDL Class A or Class B
• Hoisting License (H-1C preferred)
• Experience operating Moffett and forklifts strongly preferred
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
• Physically fit and capable of sustained, heavy work

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift 80 lbs and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs independently
• Frequent bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, and material handling
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and DOT physical
