As Delivery Truck Driver & Shop Assistant, you will:

• Support all Lee Construction Group (LCG) projects by safely picking up and delivering materials, tools and equipment to company jobs at the LCG Shop Manager’s request.
• Maintain an efficient loading/unloading system and delivery routing system.
• Maintain DOT Logs if applicable.
• Assist with organizing and maintaining the Shop/Yard facilities.
• Perform general laborer duties as needed.
• Always maintain safe delivery and handling practices and follow all company Safety for Life policies.

The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with half-hour for lunch.

Qualified Candidates Will Demonstrate:

• Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Training and experience to operate construction equipment safely – skid steer, off road forklift, mini excavator, and various other construction equipment.
• Knowledge of and experience with securing loads safely.
• Ability to meet physical demands:
• Able to talk, sit, stand, stoop, bend, reach, lift and walk
• Climb ladders and 5 floors of stairs
• Bend, kneel, crawl and maneuver in and around all kinds of equipment
• Move around jobsites during all phases of construction
• Lift a minimum of 75 pounds to waist height
• Excellent hand-eye coordination, able to grasp and assemble objects
• Excellent vision or corrected, including ability to distinguish basic color groups; excellent hearing

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Active Virginia Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Excellent driving record; must grant permission for release and monitoring of Virginia Motor Vehicle Record
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Willing to take drug test and authorize background check
• Knowledge of road network throughout Charlottesville area
• Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle
• Experience in commercial construction desired
