Job summary

Pepsi Bottling Ventures in North Carolina is seeking a Trainee-DOT to learn all aspects of a Route Delivery Driver role, including safe operation of the delivery vehicle and servicing accounts along a designated route.

The trainee will deliver, unload, and merchandise products while adhering to PBV and customer standards, as well as state and federal safety regulations. A CDL is required with training to meet PBV qualifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL Class A required; ability to pass DOT physical.
• Must be able to obtain a CDL permit within 45 business days if CDL is not currently held.
• Strong focus on customer satisfaction and good communication skills.
• Basic math skills and ability to perform calculations.
• Well organized with ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Commitment to safety and DOT/FMCSA regulations.
• Able to work hours necessary to complete routes.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre/post-trip inspection on truck according to DOT requirements and report problems.
• Safely drives a truck with a gross vehicle weight of 26,000 pounds or more.
• Safely unloads product and ensures proper check-in procedures.
• Stocks shelves, racks, coolers, and displays with proper rotation.
• Breaks down boxes and removes damaged items for proper credit.
• Obtains required signatures, store stamps, and invoices for end-of-day settlement.
• Communicates issues to store personnel and management.
• Follows all DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
