Job summary

Kids for the Future in Slidell, LA seeks a Class B CDL Driver to supervise the loading and unloading of household goods and to operate large moving trucks. You will assist movers, ensure proper loading, and adhere to DOT rules and safety procedures.

Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, securing cargo, maintaining hours-of-service logs, coordinating with dispatch, and collecting required signatures and payments. A clean driving record and DOT medical certificate are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Valid Class B CDL with clean driving record.
• Current DOT medical certification required.
• Experience operating straight trucks and box trucks.
• Minimum 2 years of Class B driving experience.
• Passenger or school bus endorsement a plus.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and hours of service.
• Experience with Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspections and submit reports to Fleet Safety.
• Ensure loads are securely tied and cargo is protected.
• Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle status per regulations.
• Maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions with crew guidance.
• Report vehicle incidents or damage to Fleet Management.
• Verify paperwork and weight tickets when needed.
• Drive CDL and Non-CDL moving trucks to transport goods.
• Coordinate with Dispatcher for daily assignments and payments.
