Job summary

Orica is hiring a CDL Class B Driver in Salem, VA. The role combines driving and hands-on work with blasting products at local sites, including mines and quarries. Expect early starts (around 4 AM), 8–12 hour days, and possible overtime with occasional overnight travel. We offer a competitive hourly range and a generous benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of driving and/or material handling experience.
• Solid understanding of DOT regulations.

• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and daily responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Hybrid role: ~40% driving and ~60% physical work.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Operate emulsion tanker and box trucks.
• Handle raw materials and hazardous goods per safety regulations.
• Minimize environmental impact and report incidents.
• Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety meetings.
