Lezzer Lumber in Zelienople, PA is seeking a CDL B Driver to deliver customer orders, load and unload materials, and maintain accurate delivery documentation. You will operate delivery equipment and ensure safe, efficient service to our customers.

Qualifications

• Active CDL with B endorsement and ability to pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and ability to comply with them.
• Ability to perform lightweight to heavy material handling and loading/unloading.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic for weights and quantities used in distributions.
• Understanding of delivery methods and proper customer service at job sites.

Responsibilities

• Deliver customer orders using company vehicles following safe driving practices.
• Assist in loading and unloading orders for delivery.
• Operate delivery equipment including truck-mounted forklift when required.
• Provide courteous service to customers and coordinate with dispatch for smooth deliveries.
• Complete delivery invoices and document necessary DOT-related information.
• Maintain a clean, organized yard and deliver site conditions as requested.
• Report unsafe vehicle conditions or maintenance needs to Dispatch.

Summary

Delivers customer orders using Lezzer delivery vehicle(s) in excess of 26,000 lb. GVW following safe driving and standard unloading, customer service, and operational practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists in or performs the loading of delivery vehicles with customer orders.
• Delivers customer orders as assigned using sound and safe delivery practices for all types of deliveries.
• Safely operates delivery equipment including truck-mounted forklift.
• Provides courteous job site delivery service to all customers and customer representatives.
• Properly completes delivery invoice documents.
• Corrects or brings to the attention of the Dispatcher any unsafe vehicle condition or maintenance requirement.
• Performs basic yard housekeeping duties as assigned in the yard and related storage facility areas.
• Verifies and returns customer returned merchandise to the yard as requested.
• Promptly and accurately complete DOT regulated driver and vehicle documents.
• Performs daily preventative maintenance checks on delivery vehicles following company guidelines and maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the delivery fleet.
• Responsible for ensuring material is placed at the jobsite in an organized manner, per customer specification when possible.
• Assists in maintaining a clean, organized jobsite.
• Follows safe vehicle and equipment operation and general yard practices.
• Immediately reports all accidents, injuries, and incidents of damage to merchandise, physical plant and equipment and customer property to the Dispatcher, Yard Manager, Assistant or Location Manager.
• Knows and practices safe and proper lifting, carrying, and materiel maneuvering practices.

Qualifications

• Active CDL, Class B with air brake endorsement required.
• Ability to comply with and satisfactorily pass the pre-employment drug screen and random alcohol and drug screen testing per company policy.
• Knowledgeable of DOT regulations and ability to comply with same.
• Ability to work with moderate mathematical concepts such as calculating weights for material distribution at jobsite.
• Knowledge of lumber and building materials.
• Ability to analyze and reason in concepts of carrying, maneuvering, and unloading materials.
• Knowledge of delivery methods and techniques.
• Two to four years’ experience in merchandise delivery and customer service preferred.
• Ability to complete a forklift operator's certification.
• Demonstrates superior customer service.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk and hear.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and night vision.
• The noise level in the work environment is quiet to noisy.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is almost always exposed to outside weather conditions.
• Frequently required to lift and carry items of 100+ pounds for a moderate distance.
• Continuously exposed to heavy equipment such as delivery vehicles or lift trucks.
• Must be able to operate the controls of a vehicle with a manual transmission.
