Job summary

Lezzer Lumber, a family-owned building materials supplier with roots dating back to 1927, seeks a CDL B Driver to join its distribution team in Pennsylvania. You will deliver customer orders, load and unload trucks, and operate a truck-mounted forklift while upholding safety and accuracy in every delivery.

The ideal candidate has an active Class B CDL with air brake endorsement, DOT knowledge, and 2–4 years of delivery/customer service experience; forklift certification is a plus, and a

Qualifications

  • Active CDL, Class B with air brake endorsement required.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and random drug/alcohol testing per policy.
  • Knowledgeable of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Two to four years’ experience in merchandise delivery and customer service preferred.
  • Ability to complete forklift operator certification.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver customer orders using Lezzer delivery vehicle(s) over 26,000 lb GVW.
  • Assist in loading delivery vehicles with customer orders.
  • Operate truck-mounted forklift.
  • Provide courteous job site delivery service to customers and representatives.
  • Complete delivery invoice documents.
  • Report unsafe vehicle conditions or maintenance requirements to dispatcher.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance checks on delivery vehicles.
  • Place materials at jobsite per customer specifications.
  • Maintain a clean, organized jobsite and yard.
  • Follow safe vehicle and yard practices and report incidents.

GVW following safe driving and standard unloading, customer service, and operational practices.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assignedAssists in or performs the loading of delivery vehicles with customer orders.Delivers customer orders as assigned using sound and safe delivery practices for all types of deliveries.Safely operates delivery equipment including truck-mounted forklift.Provides courteous job site delivery service to all customers and customer representatives.Properly completes delivery invoice documents.Corrects or brings to the attention of the Dispatcher any unsafe vehicle condition or maintenance requirement.Performs basic yard housekeeping duties as assigned in the yard and related storage facility areas.Verifies and returns customer returned merchandise to the yard as requested.Promptly and accurately complete DOT regulated driver and vehicle documents.Performs daily preventative maintenance checks on delivery vehicles following company guidelines and maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the delivery fleet.Responsible for ensuring material is placed at the jobsite in an organized manner, per customer specification when possibleAssists in maintaining a clean, organized jobsite.Follows safe vehicle and equipment operation and general yard practices.Immediately reports all accidents, injuries, and incidents of damage to merchandise, physical plant and equipment and customer property to the Dispatcher, Yard Manager, Assistant or Location Manager.Knows and practices safe and proper lifting, carrying, and materiel maneuvering practices.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
