Job summary

Lezzer Lumber is seeking a CDL-B driver to deliver customer orders using company vehicles in a safe and efficient manner. You will load, unload, and deliver materials, operate a truck-mounted forklift, and ensure accurate delivery documentation while maintaining excellent customer service.

The role requires 2–4 years of merchandise delivery and customer service experience, a valid CDL-B with air brake endorsement, and the ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screening.

Qualifications

• Active CDL, Class B with air brake endorsement.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen per company policy.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance.
• Ability to perform basic math for material distribution at jobsite.
• Knowledge of lumber and building materials.
• Two to four years’ delivery/customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to operate a forklift and obtain certification.
• Demonstrates superior customer service.

Responsibilities

• Load delivery vehicles with customer orders or assist in loading.
• Deliver orders using safe driving practices for all delivery types.
• Operate truck-mounted forklift.
• Provide courteous, on-time delivery service to customers.
• Complete delivery documents accurately and promptly.
• Report unsafe conditions or maintenance needs to Dispatcher.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of yards and job sites.

GVW following safe driving and standard unloading, customer service, and operational practices.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned• Assists in or performs the loading of delivery vehicles with customer orders.• Delivers customer orders as assigned using sound and safe delivery practices for all types of deliveries.• Safely operates delivery equipment including truck-mounted forklift.• Provides courteous job site delivery service to all customers and customer representatives.• Properly completes delivery invoice documents.• Corrects or brings to the attention of the Dispatcher any unsafe vehicle condition or maintenance requirement.• Performs basic yard housekeeping duties as assigned in the yard and related storage facility areas.• Verifies and returns customer returned merchandise to the yard as requested.• Promptly and accurately complete DOT regulated driver and vehicle documents.• Performs daily preventative maintenance checks on delivery vehicles following company guidelines and maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the delivery fleet.• Responsible for ensuring material is placed at the jobsite in an organized manner, per customer specification when possible• Assists in maintaining a clean, organized jobsite.• Follows safe vehicle and equipment operation and general yard practices.• Immediately reports all accidents, injuries, and incidents of damage to merchandise, physical plant and equipment and customer property to the Dispatcher, Yard Manager, Assistant or Location Manager.• Knows and practices safe and proper lifting, carrying, and materiel maneuvering practices.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
