Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Support CDL Driver to fill in on open routes and support daily delivery operations. You will cover varying routes and schedules while upholding safety, service, and delivery standards.

Starting pay is $24.00–$28.00 per hour with 10–15 hours of overtime weekly and overtime on weekends as needed. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered; must have CDL Class A or complete company CDL training, pass drug and background checks, and meet DOT

Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license OR complete company CDL training.
Must pass pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
DOT physical requirement.

Responsibilities

Cover open, vacant or temporarily unassigned routes as needed.
Assist drivers with daily morning duties including sorting freight and loading trucks.
Deliver and pick up freight from customers and shippers timely.
Inspect and report mechanical problems with the vehicle.
Collect payments as needed and verify shipments.
Notify management of problems or discrepancies.
Maintain professional appearance and vehicle cleanliness.
Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals.
