Job summary

Gourmet Foods International is seeking a qualified CDL Class A driver for full-time routes in the Atlanta/Decatur area, GA. The position requires at least one year of CDL Class A driving experience and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs while handling deliveries to customers.

You will drive, unload, verify deliveries, and maintain proper load temperatures, with home 2-3 days in a row each week and a strong benefits package. Training and adherence to DOT/FMCSA regulations are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21 years.
• Valid CDL License (Class A).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 75 lbs.
• Able to step up 17 inches and climb up to three rungs of a ladder.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip responsibilities including route, account, and invoice checks as well as DOT/FMCSA compliant safety inspections.
• Drive to and deliver customer orders following all regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain load temperatures according to specifications and unload goods at customer sites.
• Verify deliveries with customers, obtain signatures, and handle payments and discrepancies with management as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Performing all pre-trip responsibilities, including checking route numbers and account numbers for assigned deliveries, counting items, and checking customer invoices of products that have been loaded, and performing the \"pre-trip safety check\" inspection of truck and trailer according to DOT/FMCSA regulations.
• Driving to and delivering customer orders following all DOT/FMCSA, state regulations, and GFI procedures and protocols
• Maintaining load temperatures according to load specifications
• Unloading products from the trailer with a hand truck or by hand and placing them in designated customer storage areas.
• Verifying delivery of items with customers and obtaining proper signatures; collecting money (cash or checks) when required; contacting management for authorization when discrepancies on the invoice and communicating all errors/returns.
