Job Summary

The CDL Class A Driver (LTL) is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight and/or large shipments.

Hours and Wages

• Monday-Friday, 7:30AM start - completion of route
• 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• $23.00-$27.00 per hour, based on experience

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order
• Complete mileage and maintenance forms and turn in pre-trip forms
• Deliver palletized freight timely to customers and pick up freight from shippers
• Verify load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy
• Collect payment for shipments as necessary and return bill of ladings for billing
• Maintain all required certifications per DOT and safety policies
• Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pickup as needed

Skills and Abilities

• Operate a manual transmission
• Possess or obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
• Good customer service and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and make quick decisions

Education and Experience

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid CDL Class A license with a good driving record

Physical Requirements

• Pass a DOT physical
• Lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
• Work with freight including hazardous materials, perishable food, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
