Job summary

CJ Logistics is hiring a Local CDL-A Driver in Elwood, IL. You will operate a Class A truck on local routes, live and drop loads, and coordinate with dispatch to ensure timely deliveries. Expect a Monday–Friday morning shift with occasional weekend work and a pay rate of $26.95 per hour plus potential quarterly safety bonuses.

Qualifications

• CDL-A license required.
• Minimum 36 months of full-time Class A tractor/trailer experience in the last 3 years.
• No more than two moving violations in last 3 years.
• No serious traffic violations or convictions in last 3 years.
• No DOT clearinghouse violations in last 5 years.
• Must meet FMCSA/DOT requirements including drug/alcohol screen and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Operate company‑assigned Class A truck safely and responsibly.
• Live and drop loads.
• Adjust to local travel conditions (traffic, road closures, etc.).
• Answer customer questions with professionalism and courtesy.
• Communicate any customer concerns or delivery issues to management.
• Collaborate with dispatch to plan routes and track deliveries.
• Maintain your assigned truck in clean and working condition.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Schedule: Monday - Friday, Morning Shift

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Operate company-assigned Class A truck safely and responsibly
• Live and drop loads

What You Bring:

• A Valid Class A CDL Drivers License Required.
• Must have intermodal experience
• A Minimum of 36 months of experience working in a full-time Class A Tractor/Trailer driving position in the previous 3 years.
• No more than two (2) moving violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three years (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations or convictions while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No clearinghouse violations in the last 5 years.
• Knowledge of all applicable DOT regulations and Motor Carrier Safety regulations.
• Ability to satisfy FMCSA/DOT requirements including a clean drug and alcohol screen and a passing DOT physical.
• High level of reliability and commitment to the role.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to navigate interactions professionally.
• Must be able to read and speak the English Language sufficiently to converse with the general public and respond to official inquiries to drivers.
• Must meet minimum age and insurability requirements (21 years of age or older) in accordance with company insurance policies and/or federal regulations governing commercial vehicle operation.
