Job summary

Dawn Foods Global is seeking a full-time Driver in Louisville, Kentucky, responsible for safely transporting products from the distribution center to various customers. This position requires a Class A CDL License and a minimum of 6 months of commercial driving experience.

The role also involves interacting with customers and performing vehicle inspections. Benefits start on Day 1, including competitive pay and a signing bonus. A friendly and professional attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering into food service accounts is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport products from the distribution center to customers.
• Conduct daily face-to-face interaction with customers in a friendly manner.
• Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections.

Shift Schedule

• Monday - Friday: Dependent on route, average 5 days per week.
• Start Times range from: 3:00 am – 4:00 am (dependent on route)
• End Times range from: 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm (until the route has been completed)
• Routes will not exceed DOT hours.
• Weekend work may be required based on business needs.
• Minimum of 1 overnight (layover) route per week.

Job Purpose and Overview

As a Driver for Dawn Foods, you will support our customers by safely and efficiently transporting product from the distribution center by driving a tractor-trailer to various customers and properly delivering and unloading product according to customer invoices and Dawn team standards.

This opportunity is a full-time and benefits-eligible position.

Qualifications

• Class “A” CDL License in good standing
• Minimum of 6 months Class A Commercial driving experience
• Ability to work in the United States
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds consistently throughout work shift
• Ability to operate MHE equipment
• Experience delivering into food service accounts is preferred
• Lift-gate, reefer, electric pallet jack and forklift experience helpful
• Computer skills or experience with electronic logs helpful

Responsibilities

• Obey all federal, state, and local rules and regulations of the road including all DOT operating, recording and safe food handling procedures
• Conduct daily face to face interaction with customers, representing Dawn Foods in a friendly, competent, and professional manner
• In a DSD (direct store delivery) setting, break down product and complete shelf stacking at each stop
• Driving and maintaining multi-temp trailers
• Offloading with electric pallet jacks/two wheelers
• Performing pre and post trip vehicle inspections as well as collecting invoice receipts that are generated from the deliveries

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Required to use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.
• Required to exert physical effort in handling objects more than 50 pounds frequently.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
• Ability to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to withstand cool and/or cold temperatures.
• Normal setting for this job is outdoors and/or driving a video/GPS-monitored vehicle.
• Will be exposed to a physical environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements most of the workday.
• Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, wheat, and soy.
