Job summary

Dawn Foods is seeking a CDL Class A Driver to deliver and unload bakery products to customers, ensuring accuracy with invoices and Dawn standards. This full-time role requires a Class A CDL and good driving record, with the ability to work a schedule that may include overnight runs.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license in good standing.
• Minimum of 6 months Class A driving experience.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds consistently.
• Experience operating MHE equipment is helpful.
• Experience delivering into food service accounts is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obey all federal, state, and local rules and regulations including DOT requirements.
• Interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner.
• Break down product and complete shelf stacking at each stop in a DSD setting.
• Drive and maintain multi-temp trailers.
• Unload using electric pallet jacks/two wheelers.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and collect receipts.

Shift Schedule:

• Sunday - Friday: Dependent on route, average 4-5 days per week.
• Start Times range from: Midnight - 5:00 am (dependent on route)
• 12-16 hour days or until the route has been completed.
• Routes will not exceed DOT hours.
• Possibility of overnight routes for vacation coverage or business needs.

Job Purpose and Overview

As a Driver for Dawn Foods, you will support our customers by safely and efficiently transporting product from the distribution center by driving a tractor-trailer to various customers and properly delivering and unloading product according to customer invoices and Dawn team standards.

This opportunity is a full-time and benefits-eligible position.

What Does It Take to be a CDL Class A Driver at Dawn Foods?

Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.

• Class "A" CDL License in good standing

• Minimum of 6 months Class A Commercial driving experience
• Ability to work in the United States
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds consistently throughout work shift
• Ability to operate MHE equipment
• Experience delivering into food service accounts is preferred
• Lift-gate, reefer, electric pallet jack and forklift experience helpful
• Computer skills or experience with electronic logs helpful

What will you do as a CDL Class A Driverat Dawn Foods?

• Obey all federal, state, and local rules and regulations of the road including all DOT operating, recording and safe food handling procedures
• Conduct daily face to face interaction with customers, representing Dawn Foods in a friendly, competent, and professional manner
• In a DSD (direct store delivery) setting, break down product and complete shelf stacking at each stop
• Driving and maintaining multi-temp trailers
• Offloading with electric pallet jacks/two wheelers
• Performing pre and post trip vehicle inspections as well as collecting invoice receipts that are generated from the deliveries

• Will be exposed to a physical environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements most of the workday.
• Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, wheat, and soy.
