Job summary

Dawn Foods in Lithia Springs, GA is seeking a CDL Class A Driver to safely transport products from the distribution center to customer sites. This is an onsite, full-time role with early start times and potential overnights as routes require.

You will perform multi-temp trailer operations, ensure proper unloading, and maintain customer satisfaction through accurate deliveries. Physical and regulatory requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL License in good standing.
• Minimum of 6 months Class A Commercial driving experience.
• Ability to work in the United States.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds consistently throughout the shift.
• Ability to operate MHE equipment.
• Experience delivering into food service accounts is preferred.
• Lift-gate, reefer, electric pallet jack and forklift experience helpful.
• Computer skills or experience with electronic logs helpful.

Responsibilities

• Obey all federal, state, and local rules and regulations of the road including DOT procedures.
• Interact with customers daily in a friendly, competent, professional manner.
• In a DSD setting, break down product and complete shelf stacking at each stop.
• Drive and maintain multi-temp trailers.
• Offload with electric pallet jacks and two-wheelers.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and collect invoice receipts.

Shift Schedule:

• Monday - Friday: Dependent on route, average 5 days per week.


• Start Times range from: 3:00 am - 7:00 am (dependent on route)


• End Times range from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm (until the route has been completed)


• Routes will not exceed DOT hours.


• Weekend work may be required based on business needs.


• Minimum of 1 overnight (layover) route per week. (Possibly 2 overnights, depending on business needs.)

Job Purpose and Overview

As a Driver for Dawn Foods, you will support our customers by safely and efficiently transporting product from the distribution center by driving a tractor-trailer to various customers and properly delivering and unloading product according to customer invoices and Dawn team standards.

This opportunity is a full-time and benefits-eligible position.

What Does It Take to be a CDL Class A Driver at Dawn Foods?

• Class \"A\" CDL License in good standing

What will you do as a CDL Class A Driverat Dawn Foods?

• Obey all federal, state, and local rules and regulations of the road including all DOT operating, recording and safe food handling procedures


• Conduct daily face to face interaction with customers, representing Dawn Foods in a friendly, competent, and professional manner


• In a DSD (direct store delivery) setting, break down product and complete shelf stacking at each stop


• Driving and maintaining multi-temp trailers


• Offloading with electric pallet jacks/two wheelers


• Performing pre and post trip vehicle inspections as well as collecting invoice receipts that are generated from the deliveries
