Job summary

Dawn Foods Ltd. seeks a CDL Class A Driver to safely transport products from the distribution center to customers in Grand Rapids, MI, and to unload according to Dawn team standards.

This full-time, on-site position features a 4:00 pm start, long routes with overnight layovers, occasional weekend work, and a strong benefit package including a $10,000 signing bonus, 401(k) match, paid holidays and PTO.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL License in good standing.
• Minimum of 6 months Class A Commercial driving experience.
• Ability to work in the United States.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds consistently throughout work shift.
• Ability to operate MHE equipment.
• Experience delivering into food service accounts is preferred.
• Lift-gate, reefer, electric pallet jack and forklift experience helpful.
• Computer skills or experience with electronic logs helpful.

Responsibilities

• Obey all federal, state, and local rules and regulations of the road including all DOT operating, recording and safe food handling procedures.
• Conduct daily face to face interaction with customers, representing Dawn Foods in a friendly, competent, and professional manner.
• In a DSD (direct store delivery) setting, break down product and complete shelf stacking at each stop.
• Driving and maintaining multi-temp trailers.
• Offloading with electric pallet jacks/two wheelers.
• Performing pre and post trip vehicle inspections as well as collecting invoice receipts that are generated from the deliveries.

Shift Schedule:

• Sunday – Thursday: Dependent on route, average 5 days per week.
• Start Time: 4:00 pm
• Anticipated 12-14 hour days (until the route has been completed)
• Routes will not exceed DOT hours.
• Weekend work may be required based on business needs.
• Minimum of 1 overnight (layover) route per week.

Job Purpose and Overview

As a Driver for Dawn Foods, you will support our customers by safely and efficiently transporting product from the distribution center by driving a tractor-trailer to various customers and properly delivering and unloading product according to customer invoices and Dawn team standards.

This opportunity is a full-time and benefits-eligible position.

What Does It Take to be a CDL Class A Driver at Dawn Foods?

• Class “A” CDL License in good standing
