Job summary

Shepherd Electric Supply in Laurel, MD is seeking a Delivery Driver to perform on-site deliveries of electrical materials on a tight, time-critical schedule. You will operate tractor-trailer and box/flatbed trucks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of every drop, while maintaining excellent communication with dispatch and customers.

The role requires a CDL Class A license, DOT certification, and a minimum of 3 years driving with a clean MVR.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license required.
• Current DOT and Medical Certification cards required.
• Minimum 3 years of driving experience with a clean motor vehicle record.
• Ability to operate tractor-trailer with manual transmission.
• Knowledge of air brake systems.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer and box/flatbed trucks on assigned routes throughout the service area.
• Deliver electrical materials accurately and on time to job sites, contractor yards, and customer locations.
• Confirm delivery accuracy before departure and document any discrepancies immediately.
• Communicate proactively with dispatch and branch operations if a delivery is at risk of delay.
• Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections every shift and operate safely in DOT compliance.
