Job summary

Shepherd Electric Supply in Laurel, MD is seeking an experienced delivery driver to join our logistics team. You will operate tractor-trailer and box/flatbed trucks, delivering electrical materials to job sites and contractors on time while upholding safety and DOT compliance.

You are a dependable professional with CDL Class A, valid DOT/Medical certifications, and at least 3 years of driving experience. We value clear communication, reliability, and a can‑do attitude on every load.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license required.
• Current DOT and Medical Certification cards required.
• Minimum 3 years of driving experience with a clean motor vehicle record.
• Ability to operate tractor-trailer with manual transmission.
• Knowledge of air brake systems.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs regularly and perform the physical requirements of the role.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain through onsite training.
• Available for schedule adjustments as business needs require.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening.
• Strong verbal communication skills — you relay information clearly and on time.
• Familiarity with the area - delivery routes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer and box/flatbed trucks on assigned routes throughout the service area.
• Deliver electrical materials accurately and on time to job sites, contractor yards, and customer locations.
• Confirm delivery accuracy before departure and document any discrepancies immediately.
• Communicate proactively with dispatch and branch operations if a delivery is at risk of delay.
• Assist with loading and unloading as needed and help ensure loads are built correctly before departure.
