Job summary

NAPA Auto Parts in the GPC family is seeking a City Driver to operate within 100 miles of the terminal in a private fleet. You will drop, hook, and interchange equipment for loading or unloading at various locations under varied conditions, while adhering to Hours-of-Service regulations.

Responsibilities include safe operation, routine inspections, accurate logging of hours via ELD, and compliant paperwork. The role emphasizes on-time deliveries and professional representation of the company.

Qualifications

• Must be 23 years of age or older.
• Current valid Class A CDL with Haz-Mat certification.
• 2 years CDL experience required.
• MVR check required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Transport and deliver freight locally within a 100‑mile radius of the terminal.
• Perform required inspections and basic preventative maintenance; report defects.
• Ensure operations comply with state and federal laws and regulations.
• Log work/rest periods accurately using the ELD.
• Load and unload freight and secure loads properly.
• Follow manifests, bills of lading, and shipping documents to determine delivery times and locations.
• Complete paperwork for shipping and billing; maintain records.
• Communicate with Dispatch/Operations about movements and issues.

Responsibilities

• Transport and deliver freightlocallyin a safe, efficient,timelyand legal manner.
• Performrequiredinspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipmentregularly,and document and refer defects/repairs to manager and maintenance representative.
• Ensure that all operationsare in compliance withstate and federal laws and regulations.
• Accurately document and log work/rest periods in company assigned ELD (Electronic Logging Device)
• Safely load and unload all equipment/materials when needed over and properly secure all loads.
• Understands and carries out instructions given orally and in writing, including those on manifests, bills oflading,and other shipping documents todeterminethe location and time of delivery.
• Perform all dutiesin accordance withcompany policies and procedures, andcomply withall federal, state, and local regulations for the secure and safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle (CMV)
• Complete all necessary paperwork including shipping and billing documents andmaintainrecords required under state and federal laws and regulations.
• Frequently communicates with Dispatch/Operations, in person or by tablet or telephone,in order toadvise of movements, problems with equipment, cargo, delays, etc.
• Represent the Company in a professional manner.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 23 years of age
• Must have andmaintaina current valid commercial driver’s license.
• 2 years’ CDL experiencerequired.
• License must be Class A withHaz-Mat Certification
• Must Pass MVR check.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Basic knowledge of computer/communication devicesarepreferred. This includes the ability to navigate using a tablet, notebook, iPad, laptop, etc. as well as experience with personal email.

Physical Demands / Working Environment

• Lifting and Carrying:Ability to lift and carry objects of varying weights, typically 25 to 50 pounds or more, depending on the job duties.
• Pushing and Pulling:Capability to push and pull carts, pallet jacks, or other equipment loaded with materials throughout the warehouse. This may involve pushing or pulling heavy loads over extended distances or up ramps.
• Standing and Walking:Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often for the duration of a shift. Warehouse employees need to be able to move around the warehouse facility topickorders, stock shelves, or perform other tasks.
• Bending and Stooping:Capacity to bend, stoop, squat, and reach to retrieve items from shelves, bins, or storage racks. Employees need the ability to access items throughout the warehouse at various heights and angles.
• Climbing:Can climb ladders or stairs to access elevated storage areas or perform maintenance tasks. Warehouse employees need to have the capacity to work at heights to include open floor mezzanines and follow safety protocols for ladder use.
• Operating Equipment:Proficiencyin operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers. Depending on the job role, employees must pass certification or training programs tooperatecertain equipment safely.
• Manual Dexterity:Ability to use hands and fingers to handle small objects,operatemachinery controls, and perform tasks requiring precision and accuracy. This may include picking and packing items, labeling products, or assembling shipments.
• Repetitive Motion:Ability to perform repetitive tasks, such as scanning barcodes, sorting items, or packaging products, throughout the shift. Employees should be able tomaintainproductivity while performing repetitive motions safely.
• Physical Endurance:Stamina and endurance to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity targets. Warehouse employees need to have the capacity to work long hours, weekends, or overtime during peak periods.
• Safety Awareness:Commitment to following safety protocols and guidelines to prevent workplace accidents and injuries. Employees should be vigilant about potential hazards in the warehouse environment and takeappropriate precautionsto ensure their safety and the safety of others.
